The MM2H requirements have remained unchanged since July 2024 under the latest MOTAC guidelines. If you meet the criteria, congratulations β you are ready to proceed with your Malaysia My Second Home application.
Pre-Requisite
MM2H Requirement
1.Participation into the MM2H Program is open to every eligible foreign individual from sovereign countries that has diplomatic relations with Malaysia.
Once approved, participants are henceforth referred to as the βprincipalβ.
2. Applicants must be aged 25 years old and above for the Silver, Gold, and Platinum categories, or aged 21 years old and above for the SEZ/SFZ category.
3. Application should be submitted and completed through any MM2H licensed agencies that has been licenced by the Ministry of Tourism, Arts & Culture under the Tourism Industry Act 1992 [Act 482].
4. Every application from new participants or existing principals needs to be conducted through the One Stop Centre, Malaysia My Second Home (OSC MM2H). All matters concerning immigration including the final approval are under the jurisdiction of the Ministry of Home Affairs through the Immigration Department. Any appeals, if any, is under the purview of the Ministry of Home Affairs.
General Requirement
2.1 Financial [ MM2H Fixed Deposit ]
Eligible participants must have a fixed deposit (FD) in any Malaysian financial institution licenced under the Financial Services Act 2013 [Act 758] or Islamic Financial Services Act 2013 [Act 759]. A maximum withdrawal of 50% is allowed on the principal FD value upon visa endorsement and right after purchasing residences, education, or medical and tourism related activities in Malaysia. You donβt have to wait for 1after 1 year.
2.2 Minimum Length of Stay
MM2H (principal) participants aged below 50 years old are required to be present/stay in Malaysia for 90 days (cumulative) in one year.
However, this 90 days can be accumulated and shared among dependents ( family members ). Dependents do not have the 90 days stay restriction. Their stay is purely to help the principal applicant to fulfil their 90 days stay.
Principal applicants who are 50 years old or more do not have the 90 days stay restriction. As such, all his/her family members do not have the 90 days stay requirement.

2.3 Purchase of Residence / Property
It is COMPULSORY to purchase and own a residence after obtaining the approval as MM2H participant within 1 year. However we would advise you to buy your property within 9 months ( for new property ) and 8 months for subsales ( second hand ) property. Selling of the residence is not allowed for 10 years, unless it is to upgrade the residence by purchasing one of higher value OR you decided to terminate your MM2H one day.

2.4 Police Clearance Certificate / Letter of Good Conduct LOGC
All applicants ( regardless of principal applicant or dependents ) aged 18 years old or above must obtain Police Clearance Certificate or Letter of Good Conduct LOGC from your country of origin or country of residence.
